Paid a visit to one of Norfolks hidden gems. A unique wildlife site in Bayfield park near Holt. It is run by Simon Harrap, author of the excellent wild flower field guide, (Harraps Wild Flowers). The flowers are well set out for attracting butterflies and insects. The river Glavern runs through the reserve so plenty for dragonflies to look out for. Report of an Otter on the day we visited, but we were not lucky enough to catch a glimpse of it. Staff at the reserve mentioned a slow worm as been sighted, quite good for this area, lucky enough to see it. The views from the walks are excellent, good for raptor such as Buzzard. The reserve is 8 acres so its not a long walk, but it has plenty to see all the same. Cafe is busy most of the time, the cakes are worth waiting for though.
Just a few pictures from Natural surroundings
